Apostle – Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11) The word apostle comes from the Greek word apostolos, and it means: one who is chosen, anointed, and sent by God to carry out a specific task. Apostles are sent by God with a specific task, anointing, authority, and purpose in order to bring the flow of the new wine and provoke a radical reform in the spirit, mental, governmental, and economic realm. These men have a warfare mentality and the heart of a father, and they are willing to raise sons and daughters, in the ministry and extend the Kingdom of God by force. Prophet

Prophet – Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11-15) Prophets are men and women of God who speak in His name on something that has to do with the past, present, or future. In the Old Testament, they were known as seers. They are God’s mouthpiece who receive visions and revelations from Him and speak when they are driven by a sudden inspiration or illuminated by a momentary revelation. The prophet is identified because he/she flows in the gifts of revelation which include: the gift of the word of knowledge, the gift of the word of wisdom, and the gift of discernment of spirit. Often, prophets have the ability to see into the spirit realm through the gift of discernment. Evangelist

Evangelist – Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11-15) The word evangelist means one who proclaims the Good News. This person has the ability to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others, in such a way, that the believers are able to receive the knowledge of Jesus Christ and convert to Christianity. The main characteristics of an evangelist are: The anointing of signs and wonders. God equips the evangelist with a special anointing to work miracles and healing. Because the evangelist’s message is directed to the lost – people who often need to witness live demonstrations of God’s power – he/she has the anointing to perform signs, wonders, and marvels. The evangelistic anointing is for reaching the unbeliever. God has equipped the evangelist with an anointed message in order to reach the lost. Pastor

Pastor – Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11-15) A pastor is one who feeds, guides, watches over, and cares for the sheep. In order to do this type of job, one needs to be anointed by God. Feeds – The congregation needs to be fed with the good Word of God. Each pastor has been given the ability to teach on Scripture and thus feed the sheep. Guides – The pastor guides the people to carry out God’s will for the congregation. The pastor does this by example and inspiration and not by manipulation or control. One thing every pastor should know is God’s vision for His people; so he/she can wisely direct His people. Teacher – Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11)  The word teacher is someone who teaches, instructs, and imparts biblical truths to the people. A teacher of God’s Word is given the anointing to teach in order to edify the body and lead it to maturity. Characteristics of a Teacher The most common and easy to spot characteristics of a teacher are the following: Teachers have great love and passion for the Word. They love to investigate, search and probe the Word. They yearn to learn the root of biblical truth, and to do this they use dictionaries, commentaries, and any other information gathered on the Word.
